November is Social Economy Month!

November is the Mois de l’économie sociale (Social Economy Month), and there are events planned throughout the month around the province to celebrate. To find an event in your region, check out the website and Facebook pages of the Pôle d’économie sociale near you! Below is a list of some of the events going on this month with the Pôles d’économie sociale (and here are links to the regions of Capitale-Nationale, Chaudière-Appalaches, and Mauricie).

For our part, we’re presenting our What Is the Social Solidarity Economy webinar on November 15 from 2 to 3 p.m. In this webinar, we’ll explain the core concepts and definitions and give an overview of the global movement—and Québec’s notable place within it! You’ll come away from the workshop with an understanding of what exactly the social economy is and how you can get involved.

We’re also accepting applications for our Social Economy Mentorship–Internship (SEMI) program. Open to anyone in the province of Québec, this is an opportunity to get hands-on experience with a social-economy project while receiving financial support. If you want to kick off the month by applying, we have a deadline on November 1. And if you want to go out with a bang, you can apply at the end of the month for the December 1 deadline.

SEEnet is funded by the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise.
