Québec City, November 12, 2024―The Regional Development Network (RDN)’s social enterprise initiative, the Social Economy English-Speaking Network (SEEnet), has released a series of web capsules, podcasts, and informational videos to help English speakers in Québec learn how to get involved in the province’s vibrant social economy ecosystem.
Timed to coincide with Social Economy Month (Mois de l’économie sociale), SEEnet’s most recent releases are three videos informing English-speaking Quebecers about the social economy and how it can be used to address community needs.
In the last few months, SEEnet also released a podcast and web capsule series featuring social economy enterprises from all over Québec: The Gleaner newspaper (Chateauguay Valley), Coopérative Multi-Services de Tewkesbury, Friperie Hidden Treasures (New Carlisle), Antitube / Cinéma Beaumont (Québec City), L’Outillerie Rimouski, Entry Island Museum (Magdalen Islands), and Cap Dauphin Fishermen’s Cooperative (Magdalen Islands).
“We’re thrilled to share these videos with the English-speaking communities of Québec,” said RDN Executive Director Cathy Brown. “Since SEEnet’s launch in December 2021, English speakers have become increasingly active participants in the social economy. These videos and podcasts have the potential to generate even more interest on a larger scale.”
