You don’t have to identify closely with the movement to be a social economy enterprise. The Patriotes de Québec Gaelic football club promotes Irish culture, gets Québec City-area adults active in a new sport, and integrates people from around the world into a close-knit club that does more than just play football. What started as a loose get-together of Irish expats now includes dozens of members and plays tournaments year-round.
Club members Gabrielle Crevier and Jody Zink join the podcast to describe what, exactly, Gaelic football is, how the club attracts participants to a sport most of them had never heard of, and what other clubs think about a team playing Irish sports with no Irish players.
